NaNoWriMo – Day One

Today is November 1st – the first day of National Novel Writing Month.  Those who sign up attempt to complete a 50,000 word novel during the month, tracking it daily on this site.  So I logged 1682 words on my historical fiction novel, The Corsican, today.  Good start.

Those not interested in writing a whole novel in one month could check out my writing collaborator, Sue Bradford Edwards’, website and join her in the 1000-word-a-day challenge.

Either way you get started, writers out there, get started!  You’ve got a book in you.  Let it out and let the world have a good read!

    Ruth,
Thanks for the recommendation! I’m also doing PiBoIdMo (Picture Book Idea Month) in which you pledge to come up with 30 picture book ideas with the ultimate goal of writing as many of them as possible in one year.

    Hi SueBE,
What a great idea! Lots of ways out there to get people into the habit of writing. I know of writers who don’t write if they don’t “feel the muse” that day, and I tell them, start writing and she may just show up! 🙂

Great advice! After all, she can’t come in if you don’t open the door.
